STEWART have been
manufacturing traditional beechwood staves and
lags for over 120 years, and can confidently
claim quality second to none. |
| Prime
Quality Wood
STEWART only use
prime quality, temperate grown beechwood,
naturally seasoned for at least 2 years before
the billets are machined to a tolerance on all
dimensions, and checked by test assembly on gauge
rollers. |
| Sealed
for Stability
The wood is
sealed against moisture to prevent distortion,
and the finished staves are packed against
tropical humidity. |
| Long
life pins
The pins are
manufactured from a special non-standard carbon
steel, tempered in accordance with the pin
requirement |

Specifications
Each stave is
marked with a unique STEWART specification for
easy re-ordering, and a wide range of designs
for all types of machine is available. |
| Laminated
wood staves and lags
Stewart laminated
wood lags are made of beechwood veneer
impregnated with a phenolic resin.
Although laminated wood cannot be compared with
our METALAG staves, STEWART laminated wood lags
are fully competitive with those of other
manufacturers.
Flat or round
pins can be supplied for Rag Tearing and Waste
Opening. |
